Voluntary Engagement

Voluntary Engagement is a way of helping a Council achieve its recovery or improvment plan through a process of voluntary co-operation with the Government.

It emphasises action by the Council not the Government, and encourages the Council to be self-reliant in delivering its own improvement at a satisfactory pace. The Council remains in control, leading and driving its own programme of improvement and performance.
