The Legal Services department is able to provide a comprehensive range of legal advice and assistance to the Council as a whole.  

Legal Services deal with a wide range of subjects covering all aspects of the Council’s business.  The aim of the Service is to provide high quality legal advice and assistance in order to meet the requirements of the Council and its Departments. The in-house staff directly provide the greatest part of the legal service, with the remainder provided by specialist external agencies.

We provide advice to the Council and its staff and Councillors on the following subjects:

• Information Management

The Legal Services department cannot provide legal advice to members of the public as we are only able to act for the Council and other public bodies.
