Bromsgrove District Council Waste Policy and Promotion team work in partnership with other organisations such as Worcestershire County Council and other Local Authorities to promote waste minimisation incentives which includes the following initiatives;
Promotion of reducing waste that is produced by residents throughout the district, local schools and businesses.
Promotion of waste reuse through advertising the local Worcestershire Re-use Centre.
Promotion of recycling of waste through kerbside collection / bring site collection.
Promotion of composting through local exhibitions such as street theatre and local Parish Council days.
Promote the use of real nappies through nappaccino mornings held regularly within the district
Promotion of sink your waste again through local exhibitions. For more information on sink your waste please refer to frequently asked questions.
All the above incentives are promoted to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill. Landfill sites are filling up at an alarming rate and we need to work together to reduce the amount of waste that is being sent to landfill. Householders can help to reduce the amount of waste they throw away in the grey bin which ultimately goes to landfill by carrying out and taking part in the above mentioned incentives, for more information please click on the links provided.
The waste policy and promotion team also get involved with local schools throughout the district to get them on board the Eco-Schools programme which is an environmental management system for schools which includes looking at issues of litter and waste.
