Kevin Dicks, Acting Chief Executive of Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council

From August 1 2008 Kevin took on the role of Acting Chief Executive of Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council. The year-long project sees Kevin at the helm of both authorities and is part of a wider drive to improve services and reduce costs, allowing more to be spent on further improving services for the customer.

The initiative is expected to see £50,000 savings immediately and, if deemed a success, could become permanent.

Until then, for the next 12 months, Kevin will split his time between the two authorities.

Kevin says: “Bromsgrove has come a long way on its road to improvement and we have learned many lessons along the way. Armed with this experience I am confident we can make this pilot successful as indeed similar initiatives have been so in other areas.

“I am also confident our experienced senior managers and Members will support me in this project which in the end will mean better, more cost-effective services for all residents.”
