Household Waste Collection and Recycling
Collections
Currently around 94% of households are offered kerbside collection and wheeled bins and we are working hard to extend this service to as many households as possible. We also provide on street recycling facilities to allow those residents not yet offered the service to participate in recycling.

- on the same day as your normal refuse
- one week we collect the green wheeled bin together with the red and blue recycling boxes
- the next week we collect the grey wheeled bins only
the calendar shows you which bin to put out each week

- all your plastic bottles, cans and tins, glass bottles and jars, paper and thin card are taken for further sorting and recycling
- the contents of your green wheeled bins is taken for composting
- the contents of your grey wheeled bins is taken for disposa

- please put your wheeled bin at the kerbside by 7am
- please do not overfill your wheeled bin, we cannot empty bins that have their lids open
- please do not leave any side waste, we are not able to collect it
- if you move house please leave all your receptavles at your vacant property
- only put out the right coloured containers each week as we cannot empty the wrong containers
- the recycling materials are sorted by hand, please do not put needles or sharp objects in the recycling collection
- use your kerbside recycling calendar 2007/08. New calendars will be distributed in October for 2008/09
